I am a clinical psychologist licensed in California and have been working in private practice at Families Counseling in Simi Valley since 1999. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California; a Master’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of the Pacific; a second Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; and a Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from Auburn University. I completed my clinical internship at Pacific Clinics Child and Adolescent Clinic in Pasadena.
I specialize in conducting comprehensive evaluations of children and teenagers. This involves assessing their learning, cognitive abilities, social/emotional functioning, processing skills and behavior to determine the core problems and make recommendations to help the child or teenager succeed at school, home and in the community.
In addition, I have expertise in reviewing previously administered school district testing and/or private evaluations by other psychologists and interpreting the findings for parents. I also guide parents through the special education process and attend Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) and 504-accommodation plan meetings. I have found it very effective to work collaboratively with school psychologists, teachers and administrators, to assist parents in advocating effectively for their children.
